Netflix picks up a documentary on Kanye West documentary that has been in the works for over 20 years.

Kanye West’s life and career is a unique one which will make for a great documentary. It is being reported by Billboard that one will be streamed on Netflix later this year. A source has revealed that Kanye West gave the green light to Coodie and Chike to create a multi-part project over the past two decades.

Clarence “Coodie” Simmons and Chike Ozah of Coodie & Chike fame sold the documentary to Netflix for $30M. The creative duo was behind the visuals for “Through The Wire” and the third version of the “Jesus Walks” video.

Simmons explained that he’s been at the side of Kanye West since the 1990’s as apart of the roots of his career. He explained that he’s accumulated tons of never-before-seen archival footage and content from the 21 years they worked together. It’ll cover milestone moments in his life and career including his early days trying to get into the game, the death of his mother, and his 2020 presidential campaign.

This is not the same documentary that is reportedly being shopped to different platforms that was created by his former bodyguard Steve Stanulis.
