Nicki Minaj and her husband Kenneth Petty are facing more legal trouble. The couple allegedly failed to respond to a lawsuit filed against them earlier this year by one of Nicki Minaj’s former security guards, Thomas Weidenmüller. Weidenmüller claims that the couple physically and verbally assaulted him during a concert in Frankfurt, Germany in January 2022 after a male fan breached a barricade and approached Minaj.
According to Weidenmüller, Petty punched him during the incident, leading to hospitalization for over a week with a suspected broken jaw. Weidenmüller is seeking over $700,000 from the couple, and he has requested a default judgment. However, the Pettys have allegedly been challenging to track down. The judge has granted Weidenmüller a default judgment only against Minaj. The couple has yet to comment publicly on the matter. This isn’t the first legal issue for the Pettys.
Kenneth Petty has been plagued by a sexual assault conviction in the 90s. In 2021, he was arrested for not registering as a sex offender in California. However, last year, a new video emerged in which his accuser stated that she was pressured into pressing charges and that Petty was innocent of the crime. The alleged victim, Jennifer Hough, went on record in the video, saying that she attempted to have the charges dropped. When the news broke, many called for apologies to be made to both Nicki Minaj and Kenneth Petty.
On the post detailing the new lawsuit, many fans expressed their frustration at the seemingly endless legal issues that Minaj has had since her marriage to Petty. “She never had this many legal issues before Kenny? School me if I’m wrong,” one fan said. “This man has done so much damage to her legacy, her biggest miss!” said another.
