Nicki Minaj left United States to have fun on the Island of Trinidad for Carnival 2023 and is making headlines with her appearance on the big truck.

The hip hop icon fit right in with the natives as she matched them with her colorful costume and energetic dancing. Trinidad Carnival is one of the most anticipated events of the year, drawing thousands of people from around the world to the Caribbean island of Trinidad and Tobago. This year, fans were thrilled to see Nicki Minaj join in on the festivities, as she celebrated her Caribbean roots and showed off her dance moves.

Minaj has been posting tons of photos and videos from her trip to Trinidad and Tobago. On Monday, she shared a video of her meeting with Machel Montano, Destra, and Patrice Roberts. “She’s not just a queen a rap, she a queen period,” Destra declared in a clip posted to Instagram. “Queen Tingz, King Tingz,” Nicki said before adding, “That’s all that comes out of Trinidad.” She captioned the post: “LEGENDARY FOOTAGE WITH THE GREATS OF MY COUNTRY. I COULDN’T BE MORE PROUD IF I TRIED. I REPPIN DAT RED DAT WHITE DAT BLACK I REPPIN MY REAL FLAG. wish my grandmother was alive to see this. Wish daddy was alive to see this. See you tmrw, Trinidad.”

In another post she wrote: “If you f*ck with island girls, rep your flag for me in the comments. Trinidad Carnival is about to #ShakeThePlace shake up di whole place. It’s an honor @machelmontano @destragarcia. We’ll talk soon, barbz. Promise. Love you.”

Outside of the “Shake the Place” remix, Minaj is currently working on her fifth studio album. Speaking with i-D back in November, she confirmed that it is on the way. “The fifth album,” the rapper told the outlet at the time. “I’m not gonna say when it’s gonna come out, but the album will be out soon.” Epic Records A&R Vice President Fly Ty also recently confirmed that Minaj’s next project is releasing soon. On his Instagram Story, he wrote that the move will be “so big for Queens.”
