The rapper detailed why people continue to compare him to the two late music icons.

The 19-year-old rapper is getting close to releasing his upcoming album, “Me vs. Me”.  Earlier this month, NLE was present at the Rolling Loud Festival where he spoke with the Power 106 radio.
Me vs. Me is, pretty much, a project concept I’ve been wanting to get out for a long time,” he said. “I chose a few old songs and I chose a lot more newer songs so that people can see the growth that I’ve shown musically. At the same time, I’m still speaking on the same topics of what my core fans like to hear from me.”

The young rapper would go on to speak about being compared to Tupac Shakur and Michael Jackson which caused him to trend online.

“Uh, I don’t know, I feel like I get a lotta Michael Jackson ’cause the type of energy I bring,” said Choppa. “Somebody said I look like him, I don’t know. And I get Tupac, too, ’cause what I stand for, what type of principles I stand for outside of music. With me, it’s not about the music all the time, it’s about who I can impact. Who life I can [change].”

Choppa has long paid homage to Tupac in photoshoots and with social media posts, so that was expected.  Check out the clip of the interview as well as more from Choppa below.

NLE Choppa received some flack for his comment and took to social media to state, “This generation don’t know how important a person is until they die, ion know why I be bothering to speak. People minds don’t go pass Percs , a 3.5, hookah, and casamigos .”

A Twitter user responded to NLE Choppa’s claim explaining, “I’m a music expert of over 6 centuries. Me and my team have just went through all of your music and we have bad news. Every song that you have ever released is mid. I highly recommend making better music and studying the works of NBA YoungBoy or retiring. I hope you understand”.
