Offset Confirms Non-Biological Relationship with Quavo & Takeoff

Hip Hop News with Wanda Davidson

In a recent interview with Offset, it has been revealed that the familial bond within the Migos group is not entirely biological, contrary to previous assumptions. An article published by Variety on May 24 shed light on this revelation. Offset shared that he actually attended school with Quavo and only started hanging out with Quavo and Takeoff during middle school, specifically in the 6th grade. While Quavo happens to be Takeoff’s uncle, that seems to be where the familial connection within the group ends.

During the interview, Offset also disclosed that his upcoming solo album will feature his last collaboration with Takeoff. Unfortunately, the release of the album was postponed after Takeoff’s tragic passing in November of the previous year.

Despite lacking a biological relationship, the Migos trio displayed a brotherly bond until their unexpected breakup a year ago, after which Quavo and Takeoff continued as a duo while Offset pursued a solo career. Despite apparent internal conflicts, Takeoff’s death deeply impacted Offset, who expressed his devastation in a heartfelt statement.

“I cannot bear the pain that you have left me with,” wrote Offset in his tribute to Takeoff. “My heart is shattered, and though I have so much to say, the right words elude me. I find myself hoping that all of this is merely a terrible dream, but unfortunately, it is reality—a reality that feels like a never-ending nightmare. Each time we crossed paths, it was not a mere handshake; it was a warm embrace.”
