Outkast is a group that help to usher in the Atlanta hip hop scene in the 1990’s. Their classic “SouthernPlayalisticCadillacMuzik” gave hip hop a fresh sound and variation from the east and west coast of the time. It showed that what Andre 3000 stated at the 1995 Soul Train Awards to be true that “The South Got Something To Say” and they have been making hit records since.
Another force in hip hop who created a new sound was the duo of The Neptunes. Pharrell Williams along with Chad Hugo have created some of the most impressive work in rap history. The Songwriter’s Hall Of Fame has decided to honor their contributions with some nominations. The winners will be announced on June 11th 2020 competing with a list of nominees right here.
