R. Kelly charged with 11 new counts of sexual abus
R. Kelly is facing new sexual assault charges, including some that carry a potential sentence of up to 30 years in prison.
Kelly, 52, is facing 11 additional felony counts, with new charges filed Thursday in Cook County, Ill., according to multiple local reports.
The R&B star pleaded not guilty in February to 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse in a case involving four victims.
Three of the alleged victims were under the age of 17 at the time of the alleged incidents, which prosecutors say spanned 1998 to 2010.
The charges came after the documentary #survivingrkelly aired on Lifetime earlier this year, which detailed a series of sexual abuse allegations against the performer.
