Raptors Make Toronto Sports History

Saturday night May 25th will go down in Toronto sports history and will be a NBA first as The Raptors win the Eastern Conference Finals. The last team in Toronto to reach a major sports championship was the back to back World Series Champion Toronto Blue Jays of 1992 and 1993.

The off season gamble by the Toronto Raptors franchise of firing the “coach of the year” and trading their MVP in Demar Derozan was met with a lot of criticism, but the move has paid off in spades. The move to bring superstar ball player Kawhi Leonard has brought the Toronto Raptors within four games of the NBA Championship.

Kyle Lowry the longest tenured Toronto player on The Raptors gave a stirring speech about having the best seven years of his career and tonight being the icing on the cake. He has now reached a milestone that other great Toronto Raptors of the past such as Vince Carter, Chris Bosh, and Tracy Mcgrady were unable to reach. Things have come a long way for the franchise and is no doubt a moment for long time followers of the team to soak in. One of those people is “Super Fan” who has been loyal to the team from the start of the expansion team back in the mid 1990’s. He is pictured below with WorldWide Entertainment TV.

The ambassador for the Raptors has been very enthusiastic for his team this playoff season. He has received backlash from the Milwaukee Bucks coach for his on court antics. Then there was a troll war with the Bucks’ owner daughter where she wore a Pusha T shirt to antagonize Drake. None of that seemed to phase Drake as tonight he went really in on the court. He actually got his inner Tupac to be released by mimicking Tupac Shakur’s character, Birdie from the movie “Above The Rim”.

The internet memes are already fully loaded as veteran Toronto rapper Kardinal Offishall has let it be known as a person with Caribbean background, that he is not going to take any meal with the spice known as curry. Of course, this is a play off Steph Curry, but he is fine with his wife Ayesha.

No roti, no curry chicken, goat, doubles, Ayesha-nothing, until the finals over!!!🥳 (@ayeshacurry gets a blye 🇨🇦)

It also seems Drake may be increasing his trolling skills on the court even more than ever now. He let the Bucks team know that they should “Kawhi Me A River”. The two Toronto rap legends are in full force with the taunting and should be interesting to see what comes next.
