Daft Punk call it quits after 28 years with an official announcement from their publicist.
After nearly 30 years, French music duo Daft Punk will stop creating any new music after a huge announcement. Their long-time publicist confirms the split as fans thank the group for their music.
A video entitled “Epilogue” was posted to their website that included a clip from their movie called Electroma in which one member blows themself up. In the video, “1993-2021” is displayed on the screen, which tells you the group is finished.
Pitchfork was able to confirm this news via Kathryn Frazier, who was the publicist for the group.

Sad to see them go. RAM is still on my list of favorite albums. But it’s better to know that they are done rather than wait forever for an album that won’t come out. Better for them to stop on their own terms than fade away.
