Keyshia Cole recently called out the BET network for their award shows never giving her any accolades. Many fans agreed that the singer deserves more recognition for her catalog.
It seems Swizz Beatz and Timbaland is allowing Cole to celebrate her music as she announced on social media that she will be doing a Verzuz battle. She didn’t reveal who she’ll be appearing with, but fans starting speculating that it may be against Ashanti.
During DMX and Snoop Dogg’s Verzuz edition, Keyshia Cole was seen in the comment section asking Ashanti “was good,” which many saw as a challenge. Soon, Keyshia returned as she reposted a fan who wrote, “@Ashanti do the Verzuz with @KeyshiaCole & stop f*cking playing we wanna cry !”
Then during an interview on Fat Joe’s show, Ashanti stated that if the fans wanted her to face Keyshia Cole that she was up for the face off. Ashanti and Fat Joe discussed the situation via Instagram Live. “Keyshia Cole, would that be a great one?” Fat Joe asked Ashanti. “Listen, if they want to see it. I ain’t mad,” Ashanti replied before Fat Joe said, “Ooooooooooo,” and chuckled.
“I love it!” Fat Joe said before also sharing that he wouldn’t do it because he’s a bad loser and he’s also the worst winner.
Well, Keyshia Cole may have given fans what they wanted as she wrote on her Instagram page, “How are you guys LONG TIME NO HEAR!!! #Versuz BATTLE OTW.”
The fans started speculation right away on who Cole may be pitted against. The list included K. Michelle, Ashanti, Alicia Keys, Teyana Taylor, and more.
The only artist I want to see Keyshia Cole do a Verzuz against is Fantasia. I’ve debated this with 3 people and convinced them all 🤷🏾♀️
