The childhood of Beyonce has never been cast on television in a series, but “Selena made history showing a young Beyonce.

Fans jumped onto social media to show their surprise of the huge pop star getting a role in the “Selena” series. Beyoncé has previously confirmed that the run-in actually occurred in the early 1990s.

A fellow Texan, Selena, gets covered on the streaming platform Netflix in a series that is in its second season. Fans get to see an account of the rise of the late singer Selena Quintanilla-Pérez’ to fame and her unfortunate murder in the 1990’s. The tragic story includes her friend and fab club president, Yolanda Saldívar, being the person to end her life.

On the sixth episode of the second season we see a scene portrayed with Beyoncé, a Texas native, at the mall with her family as she sees Selena and becomes star-struck.

“But I didn’t say much to Selena because I wasn’t a celebrity, and I just saw her and said ‘hello’ and kept it moving,” Beyonce revealed years ago in an interview. “Definitely, growing up in Texas, I heard her on the radio and I think listening to her album, even though I didn’t know exactly what she was singing, it helped me in the studio with my pronunciation.”

“I think she is a legend and I admire her, and she was so talented. So, I’m very happy that—even though she didn’t know who I was. I’m still so excited that I got that opportunity”, Beyonce stated in an interview years you could see below.

Young Beyoncé is played by actress and singer Giovanna Bush, Nikki Crawford, who played Tina Knowles, and Kamorr Clark-McGeoy, who was a very quiet Young Solange.
