Scarface has been a cult classic for many years with viewers who adore gangster flicks. The character of the Cuban drug lord, Tony Montana, is beloved so much that Hollywood plans on bringing him in for the 20’s era of movies. The story of the Cuban refugee who landed in Miami will be remade for a modern audience.
According to reports, the remake of Scarface will reportedly be set in Los Angeles, California but will still have an immigrant narrative. It also appears that Italian director Luca Guadagnino has signed on to direct the film. The original version of Scarface was released in 1932 and was remade again in 1983.
There are unconfirmed gossip tweets that have gone viral Michael B. Jordan is allegedly in talks to play Tony Montana.
If Jordan is indeed the planned actor, this would be a new role for him that is unlike his gigs with episodes on “Cosby” and The Sopranos. It will be a big role that he has become accustom to as he has starred in films such as Black Panther, Creed, and Fruitvale Station.
