It’s #CaribSunday with WorldWide and we take a look at a world record breaking individual. Shemika Charles is known for her eye dropping limbo and is a native of Caribbean Island Trinidad. She currently who lives in Buffalo, New York and has appeared on America’s Got Talent. She also performs at half time shows during NBA games across the country.
Her mother was also a successful limbo dancer in her home country of Trinidad and Tobago but had to give up due to injury.
Shemika said: “I began my limbo career at the age of fourteen and I immediately recognised that I had a unique talent”. She has set records for the “Guinness Book of World Records”.
She recieves $2,300 for her fifteen-minute performances which equates to an hourly rate of over $9,000. She has appeared on talk shows such as Ellen. Check out her performance that awed her audience below.
She has also impressed Simon Cowell when she appeared on “America’s Got Talent” and made Tyra Banks stare in amazement in the video below.
Charles has also used her unique talent to appear on television shows such as Disney Channel’s “Bizaardvark” in a clever role below.
