Vladtv speaks with the legendary Smokey Robinson from the iconic Motown Era of the music industry.
During the time of the civil rights movement, Robinson hit the mainstream audiences of the United States with the hit song entitled “Tracks of My Tears.” The Grammy Hall-of-Fame, and Smokey reacted to Rolling Stone calling it the greatest song in Motown history.
Smokey then spoke about producing for Marvin Gaye, starting with “I’ll Be Doggone” and “Ain’t That Peculiar.” When asked if he saw Marvin’s greatness early on, Smokey said that he had the potential to become good enough. Smokey then added that Marvin is one of the greatest singers he’s ever heard.
