Of course the practice of “bleaching” your skin is popular on the island of Jamaica. Some even say it is an epidemic that has spread self hate of the African diaspora on the islands due to a system left over from the days of slavery. On her official Instagram Vybz Kartel was seen as leaving a comment of support. Kartel also created a frenzy in Jamaica when he bleached his skin as well a few years ago.
