Sports Illustrated will feature the hip hop star Megan Thee Stallion. According to PageSix, the Houston rapper will be appearing on one of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit covers in July. The last time a musical artist appeared on the cover was her “Savage” collaborator Beyonce in 2007.
“She’s the biggest star [right now], so it’s a no-brainer and they love surprises,” a source said.
Sports Illustrated changed their approach in regards to their model selection process with the first transgender model of color and a COVID-19 nurse slated to also appear in the upcoming 2021 issue.
“She’s working on a new album,” a separate PageSix source added. “It makes sense that she would get a huge cover like that.”

While Meg or SI haven’t confirmed the news, fans will have to wait until the issue hits stands on July 19 to see if she’s on the prestigious cover. The Swimsuit look makes sense for Megan Thee Stallion as she launched her own swimsuit line in collaboration with Fashion Nova in June.
