T.I. receives backlash from Twitter for his role on “Cut Throat City” movie as a vitiligo person.
The hip hop industry entertains fans on television screens and before the worldwide pandemic at live events. It is only fitting that rappers transition to entertaining their fans as actors. Sometimes though, hip hop artists receive backlash for bad acting or just straight acceptance of a bad role.
The latter is the case for T.I. and his role on “Cut Throat City” which is a film by another rap legend RZA of the Wu Tang Clan. The story of four boyhood friends in New Orleans’ Lower Ninth Ward who return after Hurricane Katrina to find their homes decimated, no jobs, and no help from FEMA. Reluctantly turning to a local gangster for work, the friends are hired to pull off a daring heist in the heart of the city.
Unfortunately for T.I., his attempt at trying to be a character with vitiligo has caused him to get backlash on social media.
This is literally the worst movie I’ve ever seen on Netflix

So confusing for a number of reasons. Like why? Why did he even need to have vitiligo? Why didn’t they just hire someone with vitiligo? Did the vitiligo have a place in the movie at all? Like was the plot centered on this shit? I’m so confused. https://t.co/tAKW9Gr1zD

I wanna know who they consulted about vitiligo to figure out how best to approach @Tip’s makeup in Cut Throat City. I also wonder why they didn’t just hire an actor with vitiligo. pic.twitter.com/nl7bqoySzi

Right. Is that supposed to be vitiligo? He agreed to that makeup? I know they could’ve done better than that. 🤣🙄
