Tupac Shakur was a huge fan and close friend to Mike Tyson. In a twist of irony, the last recorded song by Tupac was a tribute to the former boxing champion and used by Mike Tyson for his entrance for that fight in Vegas vs Seldon. It was produced by Damon Thomas and recorded Sept. 6 1996. The youtube channel dedicated to the Death Row Records Era is responsible for the leak.
One youtuber makes the following claim in regards to the song. 1. the bomb1st remix (leaked in 2012 and was the first leak of that song in general), which can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zgd8SkJB2YE 2. the supposedly original version (leaked around 2013), which can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=48ZRS9iOUoY 3. the first take (leaked recently this year), which can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dL5jYkVkUFQ 4. and now this version (which seems to be the true original version until Bomb 1st makes an official statement to clear up the confusion).
He also states the song was not the actual last recorded song, but it was apart of the last recording session which included “Let’s Get It On”, “Hell 4 Hustler” and “All Out”.
In an interview by one of the engineers, Scott Gutierrez states only the session took place on Friday September the 6th. He also confirmed that they we’re experimenting with the “instrumental” the day before (September the 5th) so everything would be ready when 2pac arrived. Below starting at 4:27 and 5:49 he describes the session.
The engineer also references to the other songs AFTER “let’s get it on” starting at 0:23 mark in the video below.
