In 2020 the “WorldWide Artist Of The Week” segment will be discontinued as the “WorldWide Video Zone Rising Stars & Underground Artists Rankings” will be more of the focus to help bring awareness and exposure to artists.
However, it is a pleasure to announce the last ever “WorldWide Artist Of The Week” and it is the United Kingdom’s Tia Carys. She is definitely a star on the rise. She was entered into the Video Zone on November 27th and reached number five position on the top ten for that week’s countdown.
Ironically enough, that week saw the first ever female rapper to take the number one spot for “Rising Stars & Underground Artists” with Dreamdoll’s “Behind Bars Freestyle”.
Tia Carys has amazingly reached the number one spot a month later as she became the number one music video for the last week of 2019. Not only that, Tia Carys will also be announced a few days as being on the “G.O.A.T. List”, so stay tuned to see where she lands. She is also the first ever United Kingdom artist to take the top spot on the “Rising Stars & Underground Artists” countdown as calculated by the algorithm by third party company AuroIn Digital Marketing Agency out of New York City.
The West London Rapper spoke with SK Vibemaker about various topics. She reveals that she was born deaf. What it was like growing up with a mixed heritage and what nation cooks up the best jellof rice. She talks about how she began her musical journey and being apart of the renowned label with Wretch 32 and Hamzaa. She even touches the subject on the negative aspects of music that are corrupting the youth and her impact on young girls through her art. Check out the interview below.
