Tichina Arnold makes a living off making jokes, but she isn’t fond of how social media and black people are kicking celebrities when they are down. The actress believes we should be in the frequency of love whether or not someone is guilty and she went online to spread this message. She did not make any mention of the singer R. Kelly or Michael Jackson in a series of tweets, but it is clear it is in response to the social media frenzy over their news this week.
“It’s disturbing to watch black ppl pounce on other black ppl when they are already down… guilty or not, but when it comes to holding other races accountable for their horrific action, I hear crickets. Check yourself before you wreck yourself. Operate through love and compassion.Tichina Arnold
She continued by stating that the rush to judgment in the media is not something that should be seen as healthy for society at large.
I watch with intent. I listen carefully. I learn w/ honesty. The shit show that has been displayed in the media is disgusting. What’s more disgusting is watching folks fall right in line into the bullsh*t. We have all been privy to it but I’m truly tired of it. Just my opinion.
Tichina Arnold believes instead of adding fuel that could generate more hate that people should practice healing those in trouble to prevent more pain that could be transferred over to others.
It would be nice if sick people could be given the energy by the strong, to be healed.. So they would not continue to infect, effect and affect others. Hurt people, hurt people. It’s a vicious cycle.Tichina Arnold
As the comedian typed these words on twitter she started to get a backlash as it appeared to some people she was defending R. Kelly. She buckled down to explain this is why social media makes it hard for her to speak on topics or debate.
This is pure example why social media makes it difficult for many like me, to have real open and honest dialogue about dire issues that affect so manyTichina Arnold
She ended her tweet with the following:
