For a limited time starting lunchtime today (March 7), McDonald’s will be serving the Big Mac with chicken.
Chicken Big Mac is a fresh take on the iconic Big Mac that features two 100% Canadian-raised seasoned chicken breast patties.
The Chicken Big Mac has the same ingredients as the original Big Mac, including the famous Big Mac sauce, fresh lettuce, tangy pickles, and processed cheddar cheese. However, this new iteration swaps out the traditional beef patties for tender and juicy chicken, all served on a toasted sesame seed bun.
The new menu item is available for order starting at noon, and customers can enjoy it at any participating McDonald’s location across Canada. Customers have several ordering options to choose from, including in-person at the restaurant, through the McDonald’s app, at the Drive-Thru, or via McDelivery.
The chicken has slightly less breading than the McChicken, and it’s a really nice, fresh, top-quality patty. It actually lends itself to the Mac dressing and I have no doubt it will become customers’ new go-to favourite.
Dare I say, I’ve found a replacement to the venerable Big Mac?
“We know that Canadians have been hacking the Chicken Big Mac in creative ways over the years, eager to get their hands on the real thing,” said Alyssa Buetikofer, Chief Marketing Officer, McDonald’s Canada. “To these guests, we love your passion and your hacking days are officially behind you: the Chicken Big Mac is finally here. But it’s only for a limited time, so try it while you can.”
HISTORY OF BIG MAC
McDonald’s actually created the Big Mac as an answer to the incredible popularity of Burger King’s iconic Whopper. The unique sandwich with its famed middle bun actually hit the chain’s menu in 1967, a full decade after Burger King became the “home of the Whopper.”
