Tory Lanez has been in the headlines over the last few weeks over his legal issues with Megan Thee Stallion, but he continues to release music such as “City Boy Summer.”

In what some are calling a massive troll job, Lanez has taken the popular “Hot Girl Summer” anthem that made Megan Thee Stallion famous and flipped it for an anthem for the men. Using a Houston classic sample for the artist Z Ro, that originated from a sample by the legendary Eric B and Rakim for “Paid In Full.”  The Canadian artist took it even further with visuals that were shot in Megan The Stallion’s own hometown of Houston.

The music video has been relegated to age restriction and can only be seen on the Youtube platform, but that hasn’t stopped social media from commenting on the song and visuals. Megan Thee Stallion recently spoke with Rolling Stone Magazine and believes people are not taking her serious with her allegations towards Lanez stating,  “In some kind of way I became the villain,” Megan said. “I wonder if it’s because of the way I look. Is it because I’m not light enough? Is it that I’m not white enough? Am I not the shape? The height? Because I’m not petite? Do I not seem like I’m worth being treated like a woman?”

Some of the notable aspects of the single and music video picked up by astute fans included comments online such as, “Not only did Tory Lanez shoot his video in Megan Thee Stallion City, he did it with J Prince JR”! and “Megan got beef with J Prince Sr. which make sense why Drake unfollowed Megan on IG. But taking her HOT GIRL SUMMER brand & flipping it to CITY BOY SUMMER is crazy”!

Megan Thee Stallion is also apparently dropping “Hot Girl Summer” part 2 for the summer and Tory Lanez jumped ahead with this new single. Check out the reactions below.
