Chris Brown is considered by many including ex girlfriend Rihanna to be “The King Of R&B”, but Who’s The King Of R & B? Jacquees, Tory Lanez, Chris Brown? told the world that he believed he wore the crown. He dropped an album this week titled The King of R&B, but the topic may have worn out its welcome months ago in terms of becoming a hot topic.
Tory Lanez was recently asked to express his thoughts on the matter since he is also a singer. In the interview with Rap-Up he declared, “I think everybody’s a king in their own right,” he said. “I think there’s this common misconception that somebody shouldn’t say something that’s too big. Are people supposed to limit themselves? Are you supposed to want to be number two?”
Tory Lanez was also asked to give his list of ‘Kings of R&B” and dropped the names of Chris Brown, R. Kelly, Trey Songz, Usher, Michael Jackson, and himself. He did explain that he doesn’t condone the allegations thrown toward the fallen R & B singer in R. Kelly however.
“Despite the things that he’s done, I think music and craft-wise, I would give it to R. Kelly. He’s just been doing it for so long and he did so many different genres and did them phenomenally on the music side. I don’t agree with the things he did on the other side, but musically you gotta give it to guys like that.”
