LEGENDS & ICONS OF HIP HOP - Post By Kevin Douglas

Pre-orders are now available for the first and only Estate-authorized biography of Tupac Shakur, the legendary artist who was known as an artist, poet, actor, revolutionary, and a legend.

Author Staci Robinson tells the story in a 464-page hardcover autobiography that takes fans on a journey through a fully illustrated experience, complete with photos, mementos, handwritten poetry, musings, and more.

Tupac Shakur remains one of the greatest and most controversial artists of all time, more than a quarter of a century after his tragic death in 1996 at the young age of 25. Despite being one of the most misunderstood, complicated, and prolific figures in modern history, his unapologetic lyrics, which many vilified at the time, are now seen as prophetic. His cry of outrage against a country that repeatedly told Black men and women that their lives did not matter continues to inspire his fans worldwide.

In this groundbreaking biography, author and screenwriter Staci Robinson, who knew Tupac as a young man and was entrusted by his mother, Afeni Shakur, to write his biography, peels back the myths and unpacks the complexities that have shadowed Tupac’s existence. With exclusive access to his private notebooks, letters, unpublished lyrics, and uncensored conversations with those who knew and loved him best, Robinson tells a powerful story of a life defined by politics and art, and a man driven by equal parts brilliance and impulsiveness.

Tupac Shakur: The Authorized Biography is now available on Amazon for pre-order (Click Here). Listed at $35, the biography does not have an official artwork for its cover as of this writing.

Tupac Shakur was the son of Afeni Shakur, who was a prominent member of the Black Panther Party in the 1960s and 1970s. The Black Panther Party was a revolutionary organization that sought to empower black communities and fight against systemic racism and oppression.

Afeni Shakur was heavily involved in the party’s activities, including serving as a leader and participating in several high-profile legal battles. She was also one of the party’s members who were arrested in the infamous Panther 21 case, where 21 members of the party were accused of conspiracy to commit acts of violence.

Tupac was deeply influenced by his mother’s involvement in the Black Panther Party and his upbringing in the politically charged atmosphere of the time. He often spoke about issues of social justice, inequality, and police brutality in his music, and many of his lyrics were inspired by the Black Panther Party’s ideology.

Tupac himself was not a member of the Black Panther Party, but he was a strong advocate for the organization’s principles and often spoke about the need for black empowerment and self-determination.

Overall, the history of the Black Panther Party and Afeni Shakur’s involvement in it played a significant role in shaping Tupac’s worldview and his artistic vision.
