One of the men injured during the shooting at Nipsey Hussle’s store Marathon Clothing has been arrested for associating with the late rapper, TMZ reports. Kerry Lathan was shot in the back outside the store and treated at a hospital.
After serving a 20-year sentence for murder he was in violation of parole meeting up with Nipsey Hussle. One of the rules of the probation is not to interact with gang members. Five days after the shooting, Lathan was taken into custody at his halfway house for associating with Nipsey, who the police allege was a member of the Rollin 60’s Crips.
A downtown Los Angeles jail is housing Lathan at the moment. He will remain there until authorities try to deny his parole. Lathan is now in a wheelchair and can’t walk due to the shooting.
Nipsey was reportedly paying a visit to his clothing shop to pick up some new clothes for a friend who was recently released from prison. TMZ reports that friend was Lathan.
Nipsey was fatally shot outside Marathon Clothing on March 31. The suspected gunman has since pleaded not guilty to one count of murder, two counts of attempted murder, and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon.
