Missy Elliot has entered the history books once again, but this time it wasn’t for one of her hits. Grammy winner and hip-hop icon Missy Elliott gave an emotional speech after receiving an honorary doctorate from Berklee College of Music on Saturday.
Missy Elliot is very proud of the accomplishment and is an inspiration for women worldwide and WWETV makes her this WCW Vixen Of The Day.
“This year’s honorary doctorate recipients are being recognized for their achievements and influences in music, and for their enduring global impact,” Berklee said in a March statement.
Earlier in 2019, the hip-hop innovator and vanguard became the first female hip-hop artist inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
Missy Elliot has also shown that you can work very hard at improving your health and weight through her example. She illustrated how her look was not traditionally accepted in the world of hip hop initially.
“That was the first time I realized that maybe I wasn’t the look of beauty that people thought beauty was then. And that discouraged me,” she said. She proclaimed she “kept going”.
