Oprah Winfrey is one of the most successful women in the entertainment industry ever. She has made herself a self made billionaire two times over in wealth even in 2020. However, her television network has not been what she expected financially.
OWN is expected to be part of the new streaming service Discovery Plus starting next month as apart of its initial launch.
On Tuesday, Oprah Winfrey sold most of her Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) shares to Discovery Inc. for more than $36 million in stock.
According to Bloomberg, the deal increases Discovery’s stake in OWN to 95%, but Winfrey will hold on to her CEO and chief creative officer positions.
