Morgan Cooper created a fan made trailer for “Bel Air” and people online loved his version of “Fresh Prince Of Bel Air”. It got so viral that it reached the actual “Fresh Prince” in Will Smith who stated, “Everybody sent it to me. It was outstanding. I had NEVER envisioned revisiting the Banks family in this way.”
The reinterpretation of the classic sitcom of the 1990’s has a dramatic twist where it takes a more serious tone on the characters of Will, Uncle Phil, Aunt Viv, Carlton, Hilary, and Ashley of the Banks of family.
Will Smith announced that Peacock has acquired the hourlong series for two seasons. Bel-Air will be produced by Will and wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s Westbrook Studios along with Universal Television. Will shared the good news with Morgan Cooper in a video he posted to social media.
“We have just officially closed the deal with Peacock with an unprecedented two-season-order from a pitch,” Smith said. “I’ve been in this business for thirty years and that does not happen. They ordered two full seasons of Bel-Air based on the quality of the pitch and the work that you guys have done. So I want to say congratulations. I am hyped.”

18 months ago, a young filmmaker from Kansas City @cooperfilms uploaded a video on YouTube reimagining The @freshprince of Bel-Air for present day as a DRAMA! Everybody sent it to me. It was outstanding. I had NEVER envisioned revisiting the Banks family in this way. We knew this was special, so we called @ryokanproductions and asked him to lead the team (he wrote on The Wire) and he said YES! Months of writing, developing and pitching… and now it’s happening. “Bel-Air” got a TWO SEASON order, debuting in 2021 on @nbc’s streaming service @peacocktv. Morgan Cooper and Chris Collins, you are THE TRUTH!! 📹: @westbrook
