In the early 1990’s, a clothing fad exploded of wearing clothes inside out due to the kids R&B group, Another Bad Creation, bringing the style into fashion after dropping music videos such as “Iesha”.
Will Smith was a popular hip hop artist during this time period who just got his break into acting through the legendary producer Quincy Jones. Looking for a hip hop themed comedy, Fresh Prince, was seen as the perfect artist for the role as in his music videos he would incorporate humor in songs like “Parents Just Don’t Understand”.
The visuals above would be the blueprint for the opening of the classic 90’s sitcom, “Fresh Prince Of Bel Air” that debuted on NBC and last for multiple seasons. It is considered to be one of the greatest theme songs in television history with other iconic sitcoms such as The Jeffersons and Good Times.
Will Smith has recently released a clothing line that will allow fans of the show to wear “Fresh Prince Of Bel Air” apparel for a limited time. During his promo and photo shoot, he revealed the jacket he wore for his private school was inside out and none of the cast or producers of the program informed him about wearing the clothing incorrectly. He also shows he still has that youthful exuberance even at his age and gives back to the youth who are watching his classic show today.
Here is a funny segment of Fresh Prince at school trying to pick up a female student. He is wearing the iconic jacket below.
