#WorldWide Reaction To Kawhi Leonard to LA

Clippers

The after affects of Kawhi Leonard moving back to his hometown of Los Angeles is still making waves online. The Raptors fan base is crushed and are left wondering how their team will be defending their chip. The pundits were all wrong except for this one segment which came to be prophetic.

The Mayor of Toronto, John Tory, gave a speech thanking Kawhi Leonard for his services to the Raptors and wishing him the best of luck with the LA Clippers.

We haven’t heard Drake’s reaction thus far, but other prominent Toronto rappers such as Kardinal has spoken. This doesn’t mean online hasn’t given their best take on what the city and Drake may be feeling at this moment.

Toronto Raptors aren’t the only team upset at Kawhi Leonard’s move to the LA Clippers. Lebron James was banking on tightening up his team to ensure himself another championship ring with the storied Lakers, but Kawhi Leonard dashed away those dreams as well when he decided to play for the other Los Angeles team.

The free agency of 2019 saw the legacy city teams of The Lakers and Knicks become second fiddle to the Clippers and Nets. It may show that this new era of players don’t care for the stories past and are more concerned taking pay cuts and working with players they have chemistry with.

The Lakers however, went on to sign Danny Green from the Raptors and agreed to get Demarcus Cousins for a 1 year deal.

The Clippers are still favored to win the NBA Championship in 2020 and the defending champs have dropped immensely in betting odds.

Celebrities such as Snoop Dogg who repped Toronto a few months back during a concert, have even gone online to give their reaction to the move.

California is known for having Hollywood stars, but now it seems LA is the place where NBA stars go to play. The list includes:
Lebron

Klay

Kawhi Leonard in optioning to play in Los Angeles has also turned down paying huge taxes in Canada. A writer from Forbes illustrated the issues Toronto team faces when trying to sign superstars.
