Major league sports organizations have suspended their seasons such as the NBA and NHL due to the coronavirus pandemic. The biggest event in sports entertainment is WrestleMania which houses tens of thousands of fans from around the world each year.
Last week’s Friday Night Smackdown took place at the NXT performance center without any fans in the building. It was a throwback to the days of studio wrestling back in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s. With WrestleMania looming around the corner, there has been a buzz on whether or not the WWE would cancel the event.
According to TMZ, Wrestlemania 36 has NOT been canceled although there has been pressure on Vince Mcmahon and the company to do so as the event will take place in an open field with more than 70,000 people.
It is not a secret that Vince Mcmahon is good friends with President Trump and the leader of the free world recently advised UFC’s Dana White not to worry about the coronavirus in terms of proceeding to exhibit events. This may be the same line of thinking that has kept Vince Mcmahon from cancelling the world’s most popular pro wrestling event.
