The 90’s was known as an era where women liberated their sexual prowess on songs. Although there were pioneers before them such as Millie Jackson, the likes of Lil Kim and Foxy Brown made headlines for their raw sensual lyrics. One artist that goes unmentioned at times is R & B singer Adina Howard.
She was known for attracting listeners through her sensual music and her unforgiving lyrics of being a sex pot. Her biggest hit was “Freak Like Me” that took her to the top of the charts in the 1990’s.
Her story has now been told on TV One’s “Unsung” documentary series. One stand out segment includes the admission from her ex husband that she wanted sex morning, noon, and night which caused their break up. He admits to not being able to keep up with her, but they are still good friends and live together.
