What happened to Denise and Martin Kendall?

According to Ellington, Denise and Martin Kendall are divorced, and Denise is currently single. Martin was introduced in The Cosby Show, where his marriage to Denise also brought his young daughter, Olivia, into the Huxtable family.

Why does Dwayne call Denise?
