Hip-Hop’s Living History Comes to BRIC TV with Money B and Shawn “Hazz” McDonald

WorldWide Entertainment TV NY brings two generations of firsthand hip-hop history together for an hour of untold stories, cultural reflection and enduring legacy.

Hip-Hop’s Living History, the October episode of WorldWide Entertainment TV NY, features exclusive conversations with Digital Underground legend Money B and New York entertainment veteran Shawn “Hazz” McDonald.

Money B takes viewers behind the scenes of one of hip-hop’s most innovative groups, reflecting on Digital Underground, Shock G, Tupac Shakur and the experiences that helped shape his career. The conversation arrives during an especially timely moment: Money B’s forthcoming book is scheduled for release on October 13, and he has also reunited with EPMD for the new song “Underground Business.”

The collaboration represents a full-circle moment for Money B, who has spoken about the impact EPMD had on him before Digital Underground became internationally known. Years later, working alongside artists he once admired demonstrates how hip-hop can connect its history with its present.

Shawn “Hazz” McDonald brings the story back to New York through personal memories from pivotal moments in music and entertainment. His journey includes witnessing Run-DMC record the landmark album Raising Hell, his connection with Jam Master Jay and encounters involving influential figures such as Larry Smith, LL Cool J and Keith Sweat.

McDonald also discusses his transition from the music world into film and television, connecting hip-hop’s early New York foundations with a new era that includes 50 Cent and the hit television franchise Power.

Together, Money B and Shawn McDonald offer something more personal than a conventional history lesson. Their stories come from people who were present as hip-hop expanded from regional scenes into a worldwide cultural force.

The episode celebrates the artists, innovators and behind-the-scenes figures who helped build the culture while giving them the opportunity to preserve that history in their own words.
